The mainstay of psychiatric care in the US.
In the US, at least half of all patients treated for schizophrenia are prescribed a major, life-changing medication.
Seroquel is the name for a drug that treats major depressive disorder. The drug was first approved by the FDA in 2000.
According to the, the most prescribed medication is Seroquel. But in other countries where the drug is not available, it is also prescribed. In Canada, Seroquel has been available over the years.
Seroquel is only available by prescription in the United States. If you are prescribed Seroquel, it’s crucial to understand the benefits and risks. In most cases, you will be prescribed it in the form of an injection or a depot injection. You will need to inform your doctor of any underlying health conditions before your treatment starts.
Benefits of Seroquel
Seroquel’s efficacy is not limited to schizophrenia. Studies have shown that it can help control depressive symptoms.
We have provided a comprehensive guide on the most commonly prescribed psychiatric medications, including Seroquel.
We’ve included all the key points of treatment for schizophrenia and bipolar disorder in the guide. The information we provide in the guide is meant to help you make an informed decision about your treatment plan.
Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder:There is currently no information on the use of quetiapine (Seroquel), a fixed-dose combination of quetiapine and a single fixed-dose combination of quetiapine and atypical antipsychotics. This study was designed to determine the effect of quetiapine (Seroquel) on the risk of death from a coronary heart attack and angina pectoris in patients with established coronary artery disease.
A cross-sectional study with data from the Massachusetts General Hospital coronary artery bypass surgery database was conducted using data from January 2015 to December 2017. The patients with unstable angina pectoris were followed up for 4 years (N=8). A computerized health record review was performed for all patients and death was recorded. Patients with a history of cardiovascular events and a prior history of MI, stroke or unstable angina were excluded from the study. Patients with a prior history of coronary artery disease were also excluded from the study. A total of 632 patients were included in the study.
Of the total patients who received quetiapine and quetiapine and had at least one of the following cardiovascular events (n=539, mean age 72 ± 6.1 years), the composite of all causes, death and angina pectoris, were identified: aortic dissection (n=5, 95% CI 46-74), cardiac death (n=2, 95% CI 1-7), myocardial infarction (n=4, 95% CI 4-6), coronary revascularization procedures (n=3, 95% CI 3-5) and coronary artery bypass grafting procedures (n=3, 95% CI 3-4). The rates of death from coronary heart attack or angina pectoris were significantly higher than those of the other types of cardiovascular events (p=0.013 and p=0.018, respectively) and the rate of angina pectoris was significantly higher than the rates of heart attack and coronary artery bypass grafting procedures (p=0.022).
Quetiapine is a safe drug for the treatment of angina pectoris. The results of this study provide evidence that quetiapine is safe and well-tolerated in patients with established coronary artery disease.

There is still no information on the use of quetiapine (Seroquel), a fixed-dose combination of quetiapine and a single fixed-dose combination of quetiapine and atypical antipsychotics. The current information on the use of quetiapine is limited, mainly because the clinical data for quetiapine are very limited. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of quetiapine (Seroquel) on the risk of death from a coronary heart attack and angina pectoris in patients with established coronary artery disease.
